In this election year I sometimes wonder how I ever got into politics, especially since I had never had a desire to run for office before, and I had given up on our country. When our Marine son died in Iraq nine years ago, I wanted to serve our state and our country in his honor and by his example. Serving is hard work and there are always problems that you can't solve for people, but it is worth the effort and the giving of one's life in service to others. It is a privilege for me to serve and that is why I am running for office again!
