In the Governor's budget address last Thursday, he outlined several
"bold, progressive" initiatives without explaining how they would be paid for, besides saying, "The legislature will figure it out." Later I saw a liberal commentator's take on that. He said this was the governor's way of making sure that the legislature, not the governor, will be
responsible for increasing taxes. In other words, the governor gets
credit for "bold, progressive" initiatives, while the legislature gets
the blame for higher taxes. Slick, huh.
